Baked Chocolate Idli Cake


Chocolate cakes are one of the dessert liked by all people. Be it festivals, Birthdays, Anniversaries any occasion. Today we will bake healthy, yummy and nutritious Chocolate carrot Idli cake with goodness of oats and almonds. Carrot is good for eyes and full of dietary fiber and preteen. In this recipe we will replace common flour (Maida) with Whole wheat flour and Oats flour to make it fiber rich. So why to wait let's bake and try this cake.


Preparation Time: 10   Cooking Time: 20-25   Total Time: 35  
Makes 4-6 servings 

Ingredients:-

4 tbsp Canola Oil/ unsalted Butter

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup oats flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1 pinch of salt 

150g  finely grated carrots

1 cup sugar

3 tbsp cocoa powder

100g chopped Almonds 

1 cup water/milk to moist the batter 

1.5 cup salt/sand for baking in pressure cooker. 

Method:-

1. Take one pressure cooker/ Idli cooker. Add 1.5 cup salt/sand in the cooker to maintain the temperature for baking. Put the salt/sand layer approx of 1 cms. Now put the pressure cooker cover without whistle on medium flame and cover the lid.

2. Put the oil/ butter and sugar into the bowl and now whisk it till sugar get mixed well with oil, until very light and frothy. Now add carrots and using the large spoon, stir in the carrots. 

3. Sift the whole wheat flour, Oats flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder, pinch of salt in the bowl and stir in. Once batter is mix till the consistency mix the nuts.

4. Now take the idli stand and grease it with oil and dust the whole wheat flour to grease the idli stand. Pour the prepared mixture into the greased idli stand and tap it gently to spread this mixture evenly into the idli stand. Now sprinkle the chopped almonds on the Cake mixture.    

5. Now open the pressure cooker put on the flame, Now bake this in the pre heated pressure cooker for 20-25 minutes at medium flame. Please remove the whistle from the pressure cooker. After this time you can take a tooth-pick or knife and poke that in the cake to check it is ready or not.  

6. Now the yummy idly cakes are ready let it cool down and serve. Garnish these with chocolate syrup or honey. 

Healthy Tips: you can replace the sugar with Honey or natural sweetener like ripped banana and fruits.
